Safran wins the Guyader Grand Prix 2017

Morgan Lagravière and his crew on Safran dominated the four days of racing against a high-quality field in ideal conditions to win the Grand Prix Guyader.

In the middle the beautiful Bay of Douarnenez, Safran was equally at home in the strong winds and the light breezes of the regatta, which finished on Monday, May 8. Lagravière and his crew won two of the four coastal races. But it was in the three speed runs that Safran was most impressive showing unbeatable turns of speed, regardless of the varied weather conditions, to win every race.

"It was the first time I've competed in the Guyader Grand Prix," Lagravière said. "This is one of the only events on the circuit where we can race as a crew, so we chose to have the whole technical team on board. It's great to share the thrill of victory with those who have worked so hard for the project on shore. And for me, it's a good thing to get back into competition mode so positively."

Next event: the ArMen Race in La Trinité-sur-Mer, from May 25 to 28. Lagravière will compete in this double-handed race with Roland Jourdain.
