Our involvement

Safran is passionate about its ocean racing sponsorship and takes a highly professional approach to the project, which provides a rallying point for the company's employees and embodies our values of teamwork, innovation, engagement and achievement. The unique feature of Safran's sponsorship is our technological and human contribution, going well beyond our role as financial sponsor.

A unique involvement in ocean racing

Beyond our passion for sailing, shared by many of our employees, Safran chose ocean racing sponsorship for the technological and cultural affinities between aerospace and the maritime world. Reflecting this approach, unique in the annals of ocean racing, Safran took an active role in the design and construction of our two IMOCA class monohull racers. The boats draw on our expertise and human resources — engineers and technicians from various Safran companies —and incorporate a host of innovative new technologies, derived from our work in aerospace and defense.

Safran Sailing Challenge

Each year, the Safran Sailing Challenge, which is actually the biggest corporate regatta in France, attracts hundreds of Group employees from the world over. The event, held in late September or early October, is a chance to get together with other employees who share the same passion for sailing and take part in a program combining informal sailing, regattas and onshore rallies.

The Safran Sailing Challenge is a Group event where all employees, whatever their background, profession and position, can get together to relax and have fun in a sporting, festive atmosphere.

The 2015 Safran Sailing Challenge was organized in Port Crouesty in the Gulf of Morbihan, Brittany, from September 18 to 20. Nearly 1,000 participants from more than 10 countries, 127 teams and 130 boats… were there to celebrate the Safran Sailing Challenge'10th anniversary.
