After the latest Vendée Globe round-the-world race, Marc Guillemot wanted to start a project to encourage promising young sailors from his native city of La Trinité-sur-Mer and surrounding areas. Today, his dream has become a reality, and Team SOG Safran is sailing full speed ahead.
The ten young sailors crew are combining their passion for sailing with their studies. They reap the benefits of coaching by Marc Guillemot, skipper of the Safran Open 60 Imoca class ocean racing boat, and world champion in this class, plus the unparalleled infrastructure that manages Safran’s boat sponsorship project.
Tour de France à la voile 2010
The Team SOG Safran on Safran-Multiplast set its first objective of taking part in the Tour de France à la Voile 2011, in the amateur class. The race was from Dunkerque to La Seyne-sur-Mer in 12 legs, from June 21 to July 23, 2011.

The Team SOG Safran on Safran-Multiplast achieved its goal, finishing first in the amateur class, after an exciting, action-packed month of racing. Competition was fierce, as positions constantly changed and boats had to cope with many surprises - but the team came out on top!
