Operating worldwide, the Safran group has nearly 60,000 employees and generated sales of 11.7 billion euros in 2011. Working alone or in partnership, Safran holds world or European leadership positions in its core markets. The Group invests heavily in Research & Development to meet the requirements of changing markets, including expenditures of 1.3 billion euros in 2011.
The Safran group is listed on NYSE Euronext Paris, and its share is part of the CAC 40, since September 19th 2011.

Three activities: Aerospace Propulsion, Aircraft Equipment, Defense - Security

The Aerospace propulsion of Safran group consolidates all operations related to the propulsion of airplanes, helicopters, missiles and launch vehicles in the civil and military markets, spanning design, production, testing and support. Alone or in partnership, companies in the Aerospace propulsion branch participate in leading national, European and transatlantic aviation and space programs.

The Aircraft equipment groups all activities concerning original equipment and subsystems, as well as services for civil and military airplanes and helicopters : landing gears, wheels and carbon brakes, aircraft engine nacelles, airborne power electronics, aircraft wiring, avionics…. Working alone or in partnership, companies in this branch are involved in the world’s leading airplanes program.

The Defense Security activities cover the fields of optronics, avionics, inertial navigation, electronic and software critical to the civil and military markets: defense optronics, UAV systems, multi-biometric identification technologies, card smart, secure identity documents, detection of explosives.
