Charles Caudrelier Benac, Date of birth: February 26, 1974, La Forêt Fouesnant (Brittany). Charles Caudrelier Benac is one of the top figures in the upcoming generation of ocean racers. Recognized for his skills in weather analysis and close race strategy, Charles combines versatility and talent.

Charles developed a passion for sailing at age 15, when his father bought him a Le Figaro class sailboat. After being commissioned by the merchant marine, he very quickly got involved in competitive racing and attended the training center in Port La Forêt. In particular, he has often competed in Le Figaro class races, one of the most demanding. Since winning the Le Figaro solo race in 2004, Charles has chalked up a wide range of experiences. In 2007, he was chosen by Marc Guillemot as co-skipper for Safran’s first Transat Jacques Vabre. They repeated the experience in November 2009 and won !
